The students continue their tour and travel to Ypres to visit the Menin Gate Memorial

The students begin the day with a visit to the Y Ravine Cemetery Interpretative Centre and a guided tour of the area. Then the group will continue their tour of the Somme region , visiting the graves of their "adopted" soldiers. Below is today`s list of cemeteries and the counties remembered.

  • Y Ravine Cemetery - Soldier from Westmeath
  • Hawthorn Ridge Cemetery - Soldier from Wexford
  • Auchonvilliers Cemetery - Soldier from Louth
  • Sucrerie Cemetery - Soldier from Kilkenny
  • Serre Road No1 Cemetery - Soldier from Monaghan
  • Grevilliers Cemetery - Soldiers from Offaly & Mayo
  • Sailly Saillisel Cemetery - Soldier from Limerick

The group will then travel to Ypres, where they will attend a memorial event at the Menin Gate.
